Dr. Ammar has been practicing Dentistry since 2001. He graduated from General Dentistry at Baghdad University in 2000, and practiced in both Baghdad and Dubia before settling into Calgary in 2017.

Dr. Ammar has taken countless continuing education courses and is always training on new techniques and technologies to better serve his patients.

Dr. Ammar is gentle, caring, and shows extreme patience when working with his patients. He is very thorough and takes time to provide his patients with a comprehensive approach to their oral health.

With a knack for the arts, Dr. Ammar appreciates living close to the Rocky Mountains which allows his creative mind to keep moving forward. Not only does Calgary provide a beautiful background for the day-to-day grind, it also provides a great environment to spend quality time with his wife, Noor, and his two children, Yazan and Lina.

Dr. Atharva Desai received his dental surgery degree from Dharmsinh Desai University, India in 2010. After practising dentistry for about two years in India, Dr. Desai moved to Canada in 2012. He studied dental hygiene at Confederation College, Thunder Bay, ON, where he graduated with distinction and received the academic award of excellence. While practising dental hygiene, Dr. Desai prepared and successfully attained Canadian dental equivalency in 2017 and started practising dentistry in Toronto area.

Having relatives and friends here and being outdoorsy at heart, Dr. Desai moved to Calgary in 2018. He joined the Deer Valley team in 2022 to expand his scope of practice. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a keen interest in Endodontics (root canal therapy) and Implant Dentistry. He’s a current member of the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Desai likes to keep up with the newer advances in dentistry and tries to get all the continuing education he can to provide high quality treatment to his patients.

When not practising dentistry, Dr. Desai likes to travel and explore naturally beautiful destinations. Also, in his words, besides being a dentist, he’s an avid reader and a technology buff. He likes to keep up with current affairs and follows the sports world of F1 racing, football and hockey.

Dr. Dania Al-Sammarraie is a graduate of Baghdad University since 2001, starting her career then and there. She can both speak english and arabic. Over the course of her career she has taken many educational courses to help improve her dentistry practices.

Her dentistry journey began with her mother, who was a hard working dentist that inspired her career. She brought to her the joy of helping bring smiles to people, which was something that Dr. Dania aspired to do from an early age.

Married for 17 years, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Waleed, and her 3 children, 2 girls and a boy. She also likes to go on long hikes and loves to read in her free time.

Calgary is a beautiful, quiet and safe city that drew Dr. Dania and her family to live in it. The closeness of family, her lovely aunt and cousins, and the promise of a better future proved to be a pleasing aspect.

Dr. Dania is a patient, caring, and responsible dentist. She practices as a General Dentist at Deer Valley Dental Care.

Dr. Tang obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Alberta in 2011 and has since returned home to Calgary to serve his community. He is a big believer in prevention and helping his patients make the best choices for their oral health.

Dr. Tang takes great pride in delivering gentle care and building lasting relationships with his patients. When he is not in the office, he is busy running after the kids at home. He also enjoys traveling and photography.

Dr. Tang is also fluent in Cantonese and can speak a little bit of German (Guten Tag!).

Dr. Karl grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he attended the University of Manitoba graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry in 1997. After graduation Dr. Karl spent 4 years studying at the Las Vegas Institute of Dental Excellence. Dr. Karl practiced General Dentistry in Calgary for 10 years before moving to Kelowna, British Columbia in 2007 where he spent 12 years in the sunny Okanagan. In Dr. Karl’s free time he enjoys everything from golf and tennis to kung Fu, skiing, boating and photography.

A native of Kindersley, Saskatchewan, Kevin took his dental training at the University Of Saskatchewan. He has practiced in Calgary for 24 years, starting his career at the Foothills Hospital Dental Department.

Dr. Philipow believes every patient deserves to understand their dental conditions fully and their cause. They also deserve to learn about all their treatment options so they can make the best decision for themselves with our help.

He also wants people to understand how their dental health is a reflection of their overall health and how their oral health can impact the rest of their body.

In his opinion people always make the best decisions for themselves given the resources they have available to them at the time of the decision. I also believe that there are no unresourceful people, only unresourceful states.

As a general dentist Dr Philipow provides additional services like Invisalign orthodontics, TMD and Orofacial pain treatment, and solutions for snoring and Sleep Apnea. Dr. Philipow loves Calgary because it is a vibrant city with plenty of economic, social and recreational opportunities.

In his spare time he likes hiking, mountain biking, reading, and researching alternative health options. He also enjoys time with his wife Cathy and his daughter Amanda.

He has practiced dentistry in Alberta since graduating from University of Toronto in 1984. Apart from being a passionate dental professional, Dr. Doty was also into sports. He played football at the University of Toronto and was a member of the 1983 Yates Cup Championship team. He was also awarded the “Silver T” for university athletic excellence. His father, Fred Doty, quarterbacked the Toronto Argonauts to 3 straight Grey Cups 1945 to 1947.

Dr. Doty is married to Lisa (his loving wife of 25 years), and has 3 daughters: Ainsley, who teaches at Bishop Carroll High School; Tory, who is a student at the University of Lethbridge; and Leighton, who attends Mount Royal University.

In his spare time, Dr. Doty continues enjoying athletic activities including golf and curling. He is also an avid CFL supporter. Dr. Doty coordinates the yearly operation of the Calgary District Curling League. Dr. Doty provides services at Deer Valley Dental Care as a general dentist.

He is a very patient, calm person with a great sense of humour, and he always takes care to make his patients as relaxed and comfortable as possible. Dr. Waleed believes that patients should be treated as though they are part of the family. He also speaks fluent in English and Arabic!

When not in the office. Dr. Waleed enjoys spending his free time relaxing at home and playing games with his wife and 3 children.
